Counted cross stitch is an ideal way of making a gift for someone. This may be as a main present or an extra. No matter the receiver will be pleased that you have taken the time and effort to make something for them.
If you are an avid cross stitcher there will be an array of left over items in your workbox that are itching to be used.
The problem the stitcher faces is what to create and how to mount the item. Below are five gift ideas of what to use to showcase your work.

These are relatively inexpensive to buy and are readily available in most needlecraft shops.
None of these require a great deal of materials but enable you to create a lovely gift. As previously mentioned all that is required are leftovers from larger projects and a subject the recipient would appreciate. Once you know what you would like to stitch a chart is the last element for the project.
There are endless charts on every subject just about or you may find a motif from a previous project which may be suitable.
A simple design can take as little as an hour to complete The more detailed the design the longer it will take especially if fractional stitches and backstitch are involved. Designs using whole cross stitch are the quickest to complete.
There are kits available on the market covering various subjects and some even include the accessory it all comes down to personal preference which method is used.
The gift ideas are practical presents and the recipient will more than likely put them on display for others to admire.
