Where can I find some good cross stitch Christmas stocking patterns?
Growing up, my mom stitched Christmas stockings for our whole family and I’d like to do the same thing for my husband and I. I’m looking for something that is not childish and not terribly complicated. I’d prefer something with his and hers versions.
For example, my dad’s stocking has a workshop theme…where they make little wooden trains and boy toys like that. My mom’s was a scene where they made dolls and girly toys…
Also, any tips on the same kind of thing for pet stockings? We have 2 pugs, a male and a female, and they’re like our kids.
Feel free to add any other information you feel might be beneficial when venturing out onto this kind of a project!
Hi I love to do Christmas stockings as well. I have collected my patterns from a few places. Look in your local craft stores and dollar stores for past issues of cross stitched leaflets and magazines, I have paid between $.75 and $2.00 for them. A few of my favorites are Stoney Creek, Shepard’s Bush, and Donna Kooler’s designs. I have done one from a kit, but only the one. I have also designed a couple using Christmas mofits from different books – I chose the size of stocking, charting the stockings cutting lines the filling in with what I wanted. To graph on using larger paper, I taped two 10 count graphing papers together, then photo copied on to ledger sized paper (11 x 17). Hope this helps.
