Laws crossing state line with a kitty cat colony?
My sister is planning on moving from Arkansas to Arizona this fall and she has 23 kitty cats all with shots etc. Do you know if there is any animal laws that she should be aware of with that many cats? Thanks
Um I’m not sure. But you are not supposed to relocate large colonies like that. Is she even going to be an appropriate place in Arizona for them to be? Isn’t the weather going to be too extreme for them?
I’d say it would probably be illegal for her to move a cat colony like that to a new state. You really just can’t do that. The cats are used to where they are, and if they are just going to be moved to another state and put back outside, they will get all lost and confused. Plus she might get cited by the local animal control or township for doing so, and that could easily result in the cats being picked up and euthanized regardless of if they have their ‘shots’.
She really needs to just leave them where they are, find someone else to take care of them or just not move.

What was she planning on doing anyways, trapping them and driving them all there? That would take 3 or 4 vans to do that, climate controled of course.
